The pros and cons of Used over New

By admin Posted in Sell Trucks / No Comments »

Some people will never purchase a used car because they want that warranty just in case something goes wrong. A warranty covers the first couple years of a car’s life but during this time, few repairs are needed anyway and you pay for that warranty.  If you choose a used car, some will have a short warranty period included, but generally you are on your own with the cost of repairs.

Used cars today are more reliable than ever and any out of pocket costs will be things like tires, battery and brakes. These are high wear items and usually not covered by a warranty anyway.  Depreciation is a major disadvantage to purchasing a new vehicle and interest rates are high for a new car.

Whether you are hunting for a used car, motorcycle, trailer or van, an online search will give you many choices. Those looking for trucks can check out ERF trucks to see what commercial vehicles they have to offer.   For many vehicle shoppers, the used option is the best and buying new is out of the question.  Take time to weigh the new purchase against the used to discover which choice is right for you.

Hope For The Best, But Plan Ahead

If you are about to take a holiday that includes some traveling, you are going to need to do some planning. There are lots of ways that you can spend a holiday, but dealing with emergencies and problems on the road is not going to be high on anyone’s list. Luckily, there are ways that you can protect yourself, and prepare for the challenges of a holiday on the road.

One of the smartest ways to offer your trip a little protection is to get involved with some type of roadside assistance. By joining an inexpensive plan, you can have a contingency solution, should things not exactly go the way you had hoped once you start driving. You can tailor it to offer you help if you run out of petrol, if you have a flat tire, and more. Look into the perks and details, and you can likely find something that speaks well to your needs.

By having this plan in place before you embark on your trip, you will feel more secure, and likely be willing to take longer trips to more exotic locations. This is good for you, and for those you might be traveling with – a trip filled with fun is typically the one where you have planned well, and aren’t surprised with anything devastating along the way.

The key, is to get started now, making sure you can research and compare your options long before you actually need anything specific. This single, simple move could be the best way for you to make sure every trip you take is a great one!

Selling a car in this Economy

By admin Posted in Used Cars / No Comments »

This content was sent in by Steve Marshall, who is a payday loans specialist and works in the short term loan industry.

The economy sucks and it effects everything. You see many for sale signs in front of homes and in the windows of cars so you might think it would be difficult to sell that car you have for sale.  If you have a car to sell and you know the right steps and have some patience, selling that car can be easier then you might think.

All car sales begin with a sign in the window that has your phone number and the price you are asking for it. When you drive around with this sign in the window, you are a moving advertisement and being seen by many more people than if you parked the car somewhere.  Craigslist is another place to offer the car and an ad in your local paper is another step that will help.

If you have not already told your family and friends about selling your car, be sure to let them know.  At your place of work, you can also put up a notice that gives the basics of the car and if you add a picture, that can help a lot. The more ways you offer your car for sale, the better your chances are of making that sale.

Audi Making in-roads in the US: Official Sponsor for the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards

By admin Posted in Luxury Cars, New Cars / No Comments »

Audi has never really been seen as a luxury option when it comes to cars in the US. They have always more traditionally focused on European markets and have had great success, being one of the most well-known and successful luxury car brands around. In the US though only around 5.5 per cent of American car buyers consider the automaker as an option but they are trying their hardest to get their name out there.

The German manufacturers announced the deal this week as a multi-year sponsorship which will see the company join forces with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences which will culminate at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards on September 18th, hosted by the actress Jane Lynch.

As well as Audi being one of the main sponsors of the Emmys it will also serve a purpose at several events that lead up to the award show. This will see new audi cars such as the A6 as well as the A7 and their flag ship A8 chauffeuring select guests to several of the events throughout the awards season.

On top of this Audi will also host their own annual pre – Emmy party in Hollywood a week before the main awards show.

Audi has never been a stranger to sponsorship and self-promotion in these areas, having worked closely with Britain’s BAFTA group and film franchise such as Iron Man. Additionally Audi has also been very involved in the Football market, sponsoring big teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal. Hopefully a trend will begin to emerge for Audi in the American market and people will begin to see them as a great luxury car.

Do you think Audi will be able to make it in America and push their brand? Tell us your thoughts.

16, Naive, and Driving

We all know that teenagers are known for their slightly reckless and immature driving abilities. This is especially true for those that just have received their licenses and think they are on top of the world. This is why parents everywhere needs to prepare for this inevitable chain of events. When you are looking into the first car for your child, do not give him a brand new little sports car that looks good but lacks severely in safety. Get a safe, big, solid car for your new driver that can preferably be an old model so that it is still safe while not being a financial catastrophe if it is crashed.

Despite whatever you might think, there really is no way to get away from high priced insurance for new drivers. It is going to be through the roof, that’s just the way it is. But still having insurance at all time as well as a car breakdown cover plan is essential for keeping not only your children safe but also your wallets. If your child’s car breaks down somewhere, you need to have coverage as well as a plan that your child knows to help him in that situation. Whether it is calling AAA or just getting help, especially if the car gets stranded in the middle of a highway.

No matter what, the safety of your children is of upmost importance, so take the time and make sure you have sufficiently prepared for the arrival of a new driver to the world. Not only will this help prepare you and your family, but it will also keep the roads just a little safer for everyone.

Saving on Car Insurance

By admin Posted in Car Insurance / No Comments »

Taking your time over things is always advisable. When it comes down to money this is the case even more so and you should not rush into anything that costs money as there is usually better value out there for you. Buying car insurance is definitely one if the situations in which taking your time and shopping around for the best deal is advisable.

Many people are not aware just how to do this. The answer though, is pretty simple. There are a few simple questions which you should ask the different insurance companies you talk to in order to make sure that you get the very best deal for your own personal situation. Here are some of the best questions to ask. One of the best car insurance companies online is Hastings Direct Online, and they will always strive to find you the best possible deal.

What is the schedule for no claims discounts? This question is an extremely important one and one that can make a massive difference to the amount of money you will eventually pay at the end of your policy. In certain situations the cost of your policy can fall by up to 50% if you manage to get though it without making a claim. Check at which point you will not be able to save any more money through no claims bonus or discount and also have a look at what the insurance companies do if you make just one or two claims as many still offer you some bonus if you then your insurance remains unblemished for a certain amount of time.

Is there a maximum level at which you can no longer transfer over a previous no claims bonus? If you have an unblemished insurance record and you wish to buy a new policy from a different company, many will allow you to transfer your discount over onto your new deal. Check how much that your new insurer will allow you to transfer over as it could eventually cost you a great deal of money.

What other discounts are on offer? Obviously you should try and save as much money as possible as long as you are getting a good policy at the same time so ask what other discounts you may be able to get on your policy. Things like having an approved alarm system and getting your home insurance from the same firm could save you a lot of money.

The facts about Wiper Blades

By admin Posted in Car Maintenance / No Comments »

You must be able to see the road ahead of you clearly as you drive and so new windshield wiper blades are a must. These blades do not last forever and generally they need to be replaced in about 12 to 18 months. If you live in a hot climate, this time frame is less because of the direct sunlight that drys the rubber and will cause them to crack earlier. If you continually park you car in a garage or you have little need to use them, they will last longer.

The life of wiper blades depends on various things. Sun exposure, ozone, temperature, airborne abrasives, road grime and grease, as well as how often the blades are used, all play a part. Some replacement blades have been on the shelf in the store for who knows how long and can actually have aged and will chatter when installed.

The best wiping performance comes from the natural rubber edge on the blade. Some blades are made of silicone and synthetic rubbers as these are more durable and will have a longer life, although they do not wipe as cleanly as the natural rubber blades. To reduce friction and extend blade life, Teflon and graphite are some other materials that can be used on the wiping edge.

Creative Ways to Sell a Car

By admin Posted in Used Cars / No Comments »

Especially in the Internet Age, there are many different ways an individual can now consider to sell their used vehicles. Some of the most creative means might be as simple as finding the right audience – and again, the web makes this connection practically effortless.

Most people would consider going to a dealer when they are selling a used car, or maybe putting an ad in a local newspaper. These are the traditional methods of selling a car so it makes perfect sense. However, what has changed is the ways that you can now connect to both dealers and “news” audiences…and it has changed in your favor, as the seller. You can be creative and never leave your desk chair!

When you need cash for cars and time is not on your side, the web can make things happen immediately for you. If you were to list your used vehicle in a place like Craig’s List or Backpages, your ad for the car is going to be seen by thousands of potential buyers in minutes. Plus, dealers routinely scour these ads for purchasing cars to re-sell on their own lots, so in addition to reaching the general public you are likely also reaching auto dealers and larger players.

What this should mean to you as a car seller, is to look at creative places to list your car or truck for sale – places with a higher likelihood of being seen by the right buyers. A lot will depend on the type of car or truck you are selling, but even the most beat-up wrecks can find a willing new owner with a little creative effort.
