As if the Ford Focus Taunton wasn’t successful enough, having won Best Used Small Family Car in 2007, 2008 and 2009 based on its great all round performance, it has now been honoured as the winner of What Car? Green Awards for the second time having also won it in 2008.
The judges of the highly acclaimed What Car? commented on the Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Style’s great driveability, good practicality and sensible running costs, making it their ‘used green car’ of the year.
The chairman of Ford of Britain Joe Greenwell said after the award was received “the 64mpg Ford Focus 1.6 diesel was What Car?’s green car of the year two years ago and to be a winner again in 2010 is testimony to the car continuing to be a leader in its class for fuel economy and CO2 emissions”.
The Focus continues to be a popular choice for customers with this particular award winning model selling 16, 300 units since it was first launched. This makes up 30% of the total Ford Focus Style sales. An average second hand Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Style that has done 24, 000 miles sells for around £8, 475 making it a competitive and attractive car in its range.
With regards to this Green Car award going to the Ford Focus the Editor in Chief of What Car? Steve Fowler said: “The Ford Focus is good to drive, reliable and environmentally friendly, and it proves green used cars don’t have to cost the earth.”
