Everyone who owns their own car knows it is a sad day when something goes wrong and it does not run correctly. Parts wear out and things can break and then you are stuck with having to find a reliable and trustworthy repair man. If you know someone who repairs cars then you are one of the lucky people.

Everyone else must locate and discuss what has happened to their car with a stranger. This can be intimidating and expensive if you have no idea what that particular repair should cost. But today, there is a better way and you don’t even need to leave your home. There is a car service website than anyone in the UK can use to find the best service for their car.

You can get a quote on the phone, someone will come and collect your car, make the needed repairs that will maintain you car’s warranty and then drop it back off to you, running the way it should. You can call for a quote and next day service is available. Car repair doesn’t get any easier than this and you will want to let your family and friends know so they can use it too.

Valvoline Europe have been manufacturing their own blends of car engine oil since their umbrella company Ashland Inc was established way back in 1924, The Ashland Refining company of Kentucky was an upcoming oil refinery and some early acquisitions in the companies life, made sure that this brand was going to be on the lips and minds of motorists long into the future.

Around the late 1960’s Ashland began branching out into wider markets and even drilled down into specific markets and niche industries, where by the time the swinging 60’s were in full motion, Ashland had acquired more than 5 separate companies in the petroleum and petrochemicals industry, where later these acquisitions would prove fundamental in the growth and core development of what we now know as Valvoline Europe high performance lubricants today. Securing and developing custom engine lubricants, from radiator coolant to brake fluid and eve engine flushes and windscreen wiper fluid, through the acquisition of other lubricant manufacturers Valvoline has combined all the assets of its business, be them knowledge, people and technology to produce the very best grades of synthetic engine oil seen in the UK and world markets today.

Although Valvoline is one of the largest producers of motor oil and engine oils in North America, their European Market share as skyrocketed over recent years, founded by Dr. John Ellis who first formulated his unique brew of engine oil from petroleum based lubricants back in the late Nineteenth Century, DR Ellis saw the future in his bottles of Motor Oil and thought it fit to trademark his new creation and don all produced liquids with the name ‘Valvoline’ – since then Valvoline have been serving American motorists for longer than any other oil or lubricant producer, now with growing market share in Europe and the UK, Valvoline are continuing to push the boundaries of performance engine oils with the mentality and ethics of Dr. John Ellis, ensuring that every bottle of oil which leaves their factories are shipped and sold to you the end user in perfect condition, with peace of mind that within this bottle, there is over 100 years of motor experience and development time gone into your lubricant, with the collective minds of over 2000 employees from all walks of life, backgrounds and even geographic locations, these collective minds and hearts of Valvoline Employees have led to the creation of over 29 manufacturing facilities throughout 15 countries around the world.

With their massive growth and intellectual property contained in every bottle of car or motorcycle engine oil, it is no wonder that so many knowledgably motorists only choose Valvoline products for their pride and joys, from OEM to the hobbyist motorist, Valvoline has been on the lips of enthusiasts and in the engines of the vehicles for over 100 years and is sure to be here for another 100 years to come.

If you are about to take a holiday that includes some traveling, you are going to need to do some planning. There are lots of ways that you can spend a holiday, but dealing with emergencies and problems on the road is not going to be high on anyone’s list. Luckily, there are ways that you can protect yourself, and prepare for the challenges of a holiday on the road.

One of the smartest ways to offer your trip a little protection is to get involved with some type of roadside assistance. By joining an inexpensive plan, you can have a contingency solution, should things not exactly go the way you had hoped once you start driving. You can tailor it to offer you help if you run out of petrol, if you have a flat tire, and more. Look into the perks and details, and you can likely find something that speaks well to your needs.

By having this plan in place before you embark on your trip, you will feel more secure, and likely be willing to take longer trips to more exotic locations. This is good for you, and for those you might be traveling with – a trip filled with fun is typically the one where you have planned well, and aren’t surprised with anything devastating along the way.

The key, is to get started now, making sure you can research and compare your options long before you actually need anything specific. This single, simple move could be the best way for you to make sure every trip you take is a great one!

We all know that teenagers are known for their slightly reckless and immature driving abilities. This is especially true for those that just have received their licenses and think they are on top of the world. This is why parents everywhere needs to prepare for this inevitable chain of events. When you are looking into the first car for your child, do not give him a brand new little sports car that looks good but lacks severely in safety. Get a safe, big, solid car for your new driver that can preferably be an old model so that it is still safe while not being a financial catastrophe if it is crashed.

Despite whatever you might think, there really is no way to get away from high priced insurance for new drivers. It is going to be through the roof, that’s just the way it is. But still having insurance at all time as well as a car breakdown cover plan is essential for keeping not only your children safe but also your wallets. If your child’s car breaks down somewhere, you need to have coverage as well as a plan that your child knows to help him in that situation. Whether it is calling AAA or just getting help, especially if the car gets stranded in the middle of a highway.

No matter what, the safety of your children is of upmost importance, so take the time and make sure you have sufficiently prepared for the arrival of a new driver to the world. Not only will this help prepare you and your family, but it will also keep the roads just a little safer for everyone.

You must be able to see the road ahead of you clearly as you drive and so new windshield wiper blades are a must. These blades do not last forever and generally they need to be replaced in about 12 to 18 months. If you live in a hot climate, this time frame is less because of the direct sunlight that drys the rubber and will cause them to crack earlier. If you continually park you car in a garage or you have little need to use them, they will last longer.

The life of wiper blades depends on various things. Sun exposure, ozone, temperature, airborne abrasives, road grime and grease, as well as how often the blades are used, all play a part. Some replacement blades have been on the shelf in the store for who knows how long and can actually have aged and will chatter when installed.

The best wiping performance comes from the natural rubber edge on the blade. Some blades are made of silicone and synthetic rubbers as these are more durable and will have a longer life, although they do not wipe as cleanly as the natural rubber blades. To reduce friction and extend blade life, Teflon and graphite are some other materials that can be used on the wiping edge.

Disc brake squeal is enough to make any ones hair stand on end, like fingernails scraping down a chalkboard. With disc brakes, vibrations can occur between the pads and rotors but brake squealing is produced by high-frequency vibration in the brakes. With drum brakes, the vibrations can come from between the shoes and the backing plates, or even within the brake drums.

These complaints began with the front wheel drive and semi-metallic brakes were introduced in the 1980s. Semi-metallic pads are harder than asbestos pads so they are more apt to chatter and squeal if there are any irregularities or roughness on the rotor surface. Various types of caliper designs can make more noise than others. The caliper itself may move around a lot when the brakes are applied or the pads in these calipers may not be held as tightly.

This is one aspect that you might come across when test driving a used car you are considering buying. Those who live in the UK can have the option of searching for a particular car online when they use the car supermarket. Just enter the make, model and color and see what results you get next time you are shopping for a used car.

When there is going to be snow on the road for a change you might consider using snow socks on your tyres rather than unwieldy snow chains as in the past. Snow socks are easier to put on and take off your tyres than chains and gives as good a grip with the added benefit of not being so hard on tyres. Check the local requirements in heavy snow areas as some ski resorts mandate either snow tyres or chains.

Snow socks work on the same principle as putting woollen socks over boots in icy conditions to have greater traction. The fabric wicks the slippery surface moisture away and increases the contact surface with the ground making the tyre’s grip on the road much more stable.

In areas such as the UK where snow is unusual most people do not have snow tyres and few want the hassle of putting on snow chains for the very short time of snowy or icy conditions. Self-adjusting on the tyres in use, snow socks have been shown by the TUV to be even more effective than winter tyres with the added advantage of being easy to put on and take off as you need them.

Modern day car owners are no longer limited by the stock options that you can get from the manufacturer. It’s true that we also live in a time when the manufacturers present the end consumer with a lot of different options and a lot of different ways that they can customize their new car, but sometimes people need further changes made to their vehicles. We’re not necessarily talking about performance enhancements. In fact, we don’t necessarily condone these changes, since many times they’re done in a very amateur way and the legality isn’t always respected.

But there are several modifications that are totally legal and that can totally transform your car in terms of functionality. People who use their car for work can install several modifications to make it easier to perform their jobs and to use their car as a tool for their job. There are options that enlarge the space inside the trunk or that create compartments for secure transporting of fragile items, for example. You can even install things in your car to make it appropriate for the most exotics lines of work, like dog cages or dog guards that will allow you to safely and legally transport animals in the car.

Dunlop have launched a new TV magazine that will feature all the very latest news in motorsport. Inside Racing offers fascinating insights from a range of motorsports race series including in-depth information, exclusive material plus celebrity and lifestyle features.

Unlike other racing programs Inside Racing benefits from the Dunlop name in motorsport, which means the show’s producers have an incredible amount of access to the world’s fastest tracks as well as exclusive interviews with the most skillful drivers on the planet. Viewers can expect to see teams and drivers of race series such as DTM, ALMS and MotoGP.

The show is produced fortnightly and also encourages viewer participation, which can be seen on the program’s YouTube presence: http://www.youtube.com/dunlopinsideracing. Also, for more fans of more extreme motoring, the Dunlop Challenges channel features stunt driving such as Loop the Loop, J-turns and jumps: http://www.youtube.com/DunlopChallenges.

One of the latest pieces of footage incredibly demonstrates the manoeuvrability of 3 cars when kitted out with the SP Street Response tyres. In the video, the stunt coordinator even reveals they had to slightly over-inflate the tyres as the grip was too good to perform the skids required for the stunt!

With plenty of insight into competition racing as well as stunts and other features, Inside Racing looks to be a great source for petrolheads and motorsports fans alike.
